Biography

 

Rosy long's work is inspired by cats. In her mixed media paintings, she explores colour and texture showing insight into the personality of each cat.

In her 3D papier maché cats, made from recycled materials, she explores colour, texture, character and movement with an added humorous quirk.

Solo exhibitions  and collections include Aberdeen Arts Centre, His Majesty’s Theatre, The Rendezvous Gallery, Under the Hammer, Monymusk Arts Trust, Carbyart and the Key Gallery(Glasgow).

Solo works have been regularly shown at Queens Cross Church Hall, Aberdeen Artists Society, Artspace, Grays Graduates, Stonehaven Art Club, Montrose Gallery, the Riverside Gallery, Friends of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Bridgeview Gallery, The Artists Gallery, Marywell Gallery, the Courtyard Gallery, the Syllavethy Gallery, Peacocks,Crovie Summer Exhibition,  the Milton Gallery,  Grampian Hospital Arts Trust, Cafe Musa, the Holburn Gallery,Alessandro Studios, Broughty Ferry,Just Scottish, Edinburgh Cuevas del Almanzera, near Almeria, Spain and St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge.

Rosy is a member of Kincard-Art; an associate member of SOFA (Society of Feline Artists ); she is a synaesthete artist and listed on the database of visually impaired artists compiled by R.N.I.B. She was a Visiting Art Specialist for Special Needs in Aberdeen .
